Sorority philanthropy shirts

A philanthropy shirt puts the cause first and the chapter second — the charity's name or the event name on the front, the chapter's letters small on the sleeve or the back. That is the design that people outside the chapter will actually buy and wear, which is the whole point of selling them.

What to print it on

  • Everyday Fitted TeeEveryday Fitted Tee$20.00The cost-per-shirt pick. More of the ticket price reaches the cause.
  • Baby Rib TeeBaby Rib Tee$24.00When the shirt is the ticket and it needs to be worth wearing after.
  • V-Neck Football TeeV-Neck Football Tee$26.00Reads as event apparel rather than chapter apparel — good for a 5K.
  • Campus Heavyweight TeeCampus Heavyweight Tee$28.00The premium tier when the shirt is a donation level, not a giveaway.

What philanthropy shirts should look like

Cause first. If the front of the shirt only means something to people already in the chapter, nobody outside it buys one. Put the event name or the charity on the front in type that reads across a field, and keep the chapter's mark small and secondary.

One or two ink colors. A philanthropy shirt is a fundraiser, and every ink color is a cost between the ticket price and the donation.

Ordering for a charity 5K or event

Order after registration closes if you can, so you are printing to a real headcount instead of guessing. If you have to guess, order to the low estimate and add spares — an unsold shirt is a donation that did not happen.

There is no minimum order. One shirt goes through the same process as eighty, and group pricing starts automatically at six pieces (5% off at 6, 8% off at 12, 12% off at 24).

Allow a minimum of two weeks for production. That covers ordering the blanks, printing them, and shipping. We print in San Diego, so East Coast delivery usually adds about five business days on top.

Keep the design to 2 ink colors if you can. At 3 colors or fewer we screen print, which is what gives Greek apparel that thick, opaque look that survives a hundred washes. Above 3 colors the job moves to digital DTF, which handles photographic artwork and gradients but sits lighter on the fabric.

Questions people ask

What should sorority philanthropy shirts look like?

The cause goes on the front and the chapter goes small on the sleeve or the back. Use one or two ink colors, and type large enough to read across a field. A shirt whose front only means something to the chapter will not sell to anyone outside it, which defeats the fundraiser.

How do I order shirts for a sorority philanthropy event?

Wait until registration closes so you print to a real headcount, then order at least three weeks before the event — production takes a minimum of two weeks plus shipping. There is no minimum order and group pricing starts at six pieces, so the per-shirt cost drops as the event grows.

How do we keep philanthropy shirt costs down?

Pick a lighter garment body, hold the design to one or two ink colors so it screen prints, and order in one batch to reach group pricing — 5% off at 6, 8% off at 12, 12% off at 24. Standard shipping is free over $300, which most event orders clear.
